\n\tDMA\u2019S<\/a> are back, and for the first time they\u2019re backed by a major label.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Australian trio, purveyors of a sound that resonates with fans of \u201890s Britpop, will drop a self-titled set this August through a new global deal with Wonderlick Entertainment partnering with Sony<\/a> Music Australia and RCA UK.<\/p>\n

\n\tTheir fifth studio album, DMA\u2019S<\/em> is due out Aug. 7 and will house the previously released jangly cut \u201cMy Baby\u2019s Place\u201d and the anthemic \u201cHeatin Park, which dropped this week with an official music video.<\/p>\n

\n\tDMA\u2019S <\/em>was written and recorded in the act\u2019s studio in Glebe, Sydney, and Los Angeles, and is said to showcase \u201cthe evolution of their signature anthemic sound with fresh sonic textures,\u201d a statement reads.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe band members (Tommy O\u2019Dell, Matt Mason and Johnny Took) co-produce most of the record with Grammy Award-nominated producer Lach Bostock (Mansionair), and with help from Jimi Somewhere and Styalz Fuego.<\/p>\n

\n\tDMA\u2019S have accumulated more than 500 million streams, nabbed an ARIA Award in 2023 for best group, and in 2023 came out on top of triple j\u2019s inaugural Hottest 100<\/a> \u201cLive A Version\u201d countdown with their cover of Cher\u2019s \u201890s dance hit \u201cBelieve.\u201d All four of their studio albums have crashed the top 10 on the ARIA Chart, through long-time former label home I Oh You, part of the Mushroom Group.<\/p>\n

\n\tIt\u2019s in the United Kingdom, however, where DMA\u2019S have found their spiritual home. The band\u2019s previous two studio albums, How Many Dreams <\/em>(No. 3 in 2023), and The Glow <\/em>(No. 4 in 2020) both cracked the top 10 on the Official U.K. Albums Chart. There, each DMA\u2019S album has charted higher than the last. <\/p>\n

\n\tDMA\u2019S will support the album in their homeland with a newly-announced East Coast tour, which gets underway Nov. 27 at Brisbane\u2019s Fortitude Music Hall, followed by a concert at Melbourne\u2019s Royal Botanic Gardens on Nov.\u00a028, part of the Live at the Gardens series, and wrap up with a hometown show at the Sydney Opera House Forecourt on Dec. 3.
