The Greater New Bedford Choral Society is set to perform a concert celebrating American music.<\/p>\n\n

The concert, “250 Years: Music of America,” is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. May 3 at Grace Episcopal Church, 133 School St., New Bedford, according to a community announcement.<\/p>\n

The program will explore American music traditions, featuring classical selections such as Randall Thompson\u2019s \u201cFrostiana\u201d and Aaron Copland\u2019s \u201cSimple Gifts.\u201d It will also include spirituals and Americana songs like \u201cDown in the River\u201d and \u201cOh Susannah,\u201d as well as timeless favorites such as \u201cSomewhere Over the Rainbow\u201d and \u201cWhat a Wonderful World,\u201d according to the announcement.
