The Prince and Princess of Wales today celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary by visiting IntoUniversity, an education charity which benefitted from their Royal Wedding Gift Fund in 2011, Kensington Palace has announced.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
It was one of the 26 charities they chose for the royal wedding gift fund in 2011. The couple also enjoyed a romantic meal at the London hotel where Catherine stayed the night before their wedding.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
The Prince and Princess spent 30 minutes at the Walworth Centre, where they joined five students who are part of the charity\u2019s primary school programme of free immersive educational activities and workshops which support students\u2019 aspirations, attainment and development of key skills that promote success at school and beyond.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
The Gift Fund was set up before their special day so that anyone who wished to give them a wedding gift could instead donate to their chosen charities in celebration of their nuptials.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
IntoUniversity, which was in its early stages at the time of the royal wedding, aims to help young people facing disadvantage achieve their full potential, including university, higher education and employment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
They have benefited greatly from the gift fund and have helped the organisation to continue providing pastoral and academic support to the young people they support.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
In the subsequent 15 years, IntoUniversity has expanded from a London-based cluster of six centres into an expansive nationwide network of 46 centres across England and Scotland.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
After their visit, they went for lunch at The Goring, where Catherine stayed the night before the wedding.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
