BYD<\/a> launched the Song Ultra EV in China, starting at just under $22,000. The new EV is one of the first to be equipped with its Blade Battery and Flash Charging, enabling recharge times in as little as 5 minutes. In just one month, the electric SUV secured over 60,000 orders.<\/p>\n

BYD launches the Song Ultra EV with Flash Charging<\/h2>\n

After opening pre-orders for the Song Ultra EV on March 6, BYD\u2019s new electric SUV secured 21,586 reservations in 20 days.<\/p>\n

BYD officially launched the Song Ultra EV in China on Thursday, March 26, starting at 151,900 yuan ($22,000). That\u2019s far lower than the expected 220,000 yuan ($31,900) starting price, and the 155,000 yuan ($22,500) pre-sale price.<\/p>\n

In its first week on the market, the new electric SUV received over 10,000 orders. As of April 2, the total reached 37,216. According to the latest update, the new Song Ultra EV secured 61,240 orders in its first month on the market. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s available in four trims with prices ranging up to 179,900 yuan ($26,000). All variants will be powered by BYD\u2019s new Blade Battery 2.0, with two battery pack options: 68.4 kWh and 82.7 kWh, providing CLTC ranges of 605 km and 710 km.<\/p>\n

With BYD\u2019s Flash Charging tech, the Song Ultra EV can charge from 10% to 70% in 5 minutes. To reach 97%, it takes 9 minutes, while in temperatures as low as -30\u00b0C (-20\u00b0F), it takes just 12 minutes.<\/p>\n

While those who pre-ordered received a free 18 months of free Flash Charging<\/a>, BYD is still offering a free year as standard on all trims.<\/p>\n

According to third-party research from CarFans<\/a><\/em>, the launch price \u201cmet customer expectations, and overall orders have been growing steadily.\u201d The report added that the vehicle\u2019s \u201cfast-charging capability has clearly boosted interest in the Song Ultra.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vehicles in stock are being delivered one after another, with large-scale deliveries now in full swing. BYD\u2019s store visits increased 40% in the 72 hours after launching, with an average of 15 Song Ultra EVs sold per store.<\/p>\n
