Since then, Kripke, who serves as an executive producer on the project, says disgruntled viewers have been &#8220;flooding&#8221; his mentions on social media with insults.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;I did not cancel the show. One, I don&#8217;t have the power to do that,&#8221; he tells <em>Entertainment Weekly<\/em>. &#8220;Two, I was fighting to keep the show, almost more than anybody else on Earth. She&#8217;s enrolled in Godolkin University, American&#8217;s premier college for supes, where she befriends other super-powered individuals her own age but becomes embroiled in a mystery surrounding off-the-books experimentation on kidnapped members of the student body.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The show&#8217;s storyline mingled with the events of <em>The Boys<\/em>, which then teed up a <em>Gen V<\/em> season 2 arc that revealed Marie and Homelander (Antony Starr) as the only two survivors of Project Odessa, a program dedicated to creating godlike supes. Marie and gender-shifting Jordan Li (London Thor) are now set to appear in later episodes of <em>The Boys<\/em>&#8216; fifth and final season (currently releasing weekly on Prime Video).<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Kripke previously confirmed there was <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" data-yga=\"{\" ylinkelement=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/ew.com\/how-gen-v-season-2-ending-sets-up-the-boys-season-5-11833160\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"elm:link;elmt:article_link;slk:a Gen V season 3 concept that excited him;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">a <em>Gen V<\/em> season 3 concept that excited him<\/a>. When asked what that concept was, he replies, &#8220;We&#8217;re still hopeful we can find a way to do it. So, unfortunately, I can&#8217;t share it.&#8221; He does, however, mention &#8220;this idea that Marie is powerful, but that&#8217;s not the end of her story. She has to learn how to control it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">When pressed further on the matter, he adds, &#8220;It&#8217;s very early days, because we&#8217;re focusing on getting <em>Vought Rising<\/em> out into the world, but Amazon has expressed an interest and they want to hear more potential stories in the world. So we&#8217;re internally brainstorming a couple different ideas.
