NEW YORK (AP) \u2014 Fresh off her triumphant turn in London as Eva Per\u00f3n<\/a>, Rachel Zegler<\/a> is taking her Argentine first lady to Broadway.<\/p>\n The revival \u2014 directed by Jamie Lloyd \u2014 will play at a Shubert theater to be announced in the spring of 2027, producers said Wednesday. The musical is about the caustic intersection of politics and showbiz.<\/p>\n \u201cPerforming \u202fTim\u202f Rice\u202f and Andrew\u202fLloyd Webber\u2019s brilliant show \u202fin London was a dream come true, but being able to \u202fpartner once again with Jamie to\u202f bring \u2018Evita\u2019\u202f to\u202f Broadway\u202f is a once in a lifetime opportunity,\u201d Zegler said in a statement. \u201cI can\u2019t wait \u202fto perform for my home, New York City.\u201d<\/p>\n Zegler won the Olivier Award as best actress in a musical earlier this month. She received lots of attention for performing the song \u201cDon\u2019t Cry For Me, Argentina\u201d on an exterior balcony, attracting large crowds to the street every night while theatergoers inside watched on screens. Lloyd did something similar with his revival of \u201cSunset Boulevard\u201d \u2014 placing the actor Tom Francis outside the theater each night.<\/p>\n \u201cEvita\u201d began as a rock opera concept album and transferred to Broadway in 1979, starring Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin.
