I am Emily.\u201d <\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Lauren Weisberger<\/strong>, who wrote the original book, was one of Anna Wintour<\/strong>\u2018s junior assistants, and was hired by Leslie<\/strong>. They apparently worked together for 8 months.<\/p>\n \u201cI definitely told her a million girls would kill for the job. That was definitely my line because I actually really believed that, and I knew that she didn\u2019t necessarily wanna be there,\u201d Leslie <\/strong>said. If you don\u2019t know, that\u2019s an iconic line from the first film.<\/p>\n When the book was published in 2003, she met up with Anna Wintour<\/strong>. \u201cI got a call from Anna<\/strong>\u2018s office saying that she wanted to see me. I was petrified. [Anna] said, \u2018Who\u2019s Lauren Weisberger<\/strong>? And I said, \u2018She was your junior assistant. And she\u2019s like, \u2018Well, she wrote a book about us, and you\u2019re worse than me,’\u201d Leslie <\/strong>explained. \u201cI wanted to, like, ask more questions, but you can\u2019t really ask her that many questions.\u201d<\/p>\n About the book getting published, Leslie said, \u201cIt just felt like this exposure. Even though someone obviously advised her to make it fiction, it was really based off of a lot of things that, you know, I lived, she lived.\u201d <\/p>\n Leslie <\/strong>recalled working with Lauren<\/strong>: \u201cI probably was not very nice, and I probably was high-strung because I felt like I was having to do her job as well. So for me, that was really frustrating. I think she was probably just sitting there writing a book and not necessarily taking the job as seriously as I did.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cWe never talked again after she left,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n Leslie <\/strong>also said she once told Emily Blunt <\/strong>this information, but Emily <\/strong>didn\u2019t seem interested. \u201cI said to her, I was like, \u2018I just need to let you know, I\u2019m Emily.\u2019 She was not that interested, to be honest. I thought I was gonna get this, like, huge reaction. Like, no.
