Steven Tyler has secured a legal win as his sexual assault lawsuit dwindles down to one claim.<\/p>\n
Over the past three years, the Aerosmith lead singer, 78, has been embroiled in a lawsuit<\/a> with Julia Misley, a woman who claims he sexually assaulted her during their relationship<\/a> over 50 years ago when she was 16 years old.<\/p>\n Within the allegations she made<\/a>, Misley mentioned sexual encounters in various states. However, a California<\/a> judge has now thrown out most of those claims. On Wednesday, April 29, a judge ruled only one claim from an alleged incident in California can remain in the lawsuit.<\/p>\n According to new legal docs obtained by TMZ<\/a>, the judge said the alleged actions that occurred in other states cannot be dealt with in a California court.<\/p>\n The one claim that remains in the case has to do with a 1974 incident. She alleged the two had sex in a hotel and public hotel on a visit to California when she was 16 years old.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Tyler\u2019s lawyer, David Long-Daniels, views the judge\u2019s ruling as a success and is looking forward to going to court this summer.<\/p>\n He said, “This is a massive win for Steven Tyler. Today, the court has dismissed with prejudice 99.9% of the claims against Mr. Tyler in this case. The court has decided that only one night fifty-plus years ago out of a three-year relationship is allowed to remain. We look forward to trying this case on August 31.”<\/p>\n In December 2022, Misley sued Tyler of not only sexual assault, but also sexual battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress.<\/p>\n The singer first met Misley at an Aerosmith concert in Portland. Holcomb claims that Tyler was aware of her age prior to inviting her back to his hotel, where he \u201cperformed various acts of criminal sexual conduct upon\u201d her.<\/p>\n The two had their second encounter after another concert in Seattle<\/a>.
