In \u201cThe Devil Wears Prada,\u201d our heroine Andrea \u201cAndy\u201d Sachs learns quickly that what you wear to work speaks volumes about who you are \u2014 especially if you show up at a glossy fashion magazine wearing a dumpy sweater, forlorn skirt and clunky chunky shoes.<\/p>\n

To Andy\u2019s icy boss, magazine editor Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep), clothes are more than just \u201cstuff.\u201d Andy, played by Anne Hathaway, spends the rest of the movie learning the power of Prada … and Chanel and Fendi and Gucci.<\/p>\n

The movie\u2019s devoted fans have waited 20 years for \u201cThe Devil Wears Prada 2,\u201d which finally debuts Friday. And one local theater is marking the moment by hosting a fundraiser with heart.<\/p>\n

The Opening Night Party at Pharaoh Cinema 4 on the Independence Square Thursday night will raise money for the nonprofit Hope House, which serves survivors of domestic violence<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Hope House runs a women\u2019s work clothing bank. People are encouraged to bring donations of gently used clothing \u2014 pieces that will make women feel confident (and of course, stylish) when they wear them to work.<\/p>\n

Even cerulean blue sweaters will be accepted. If you know you know. (Old Navy is currently selling a SoSoft Cerulean Cable-Knit Sweater<\/a> for $49.99.)<\/p>\n

The $40 ticket<\/a> includes swag, a free drink ticket and gold-dusted popcorn, complimentary Prosecco or non-alcoholic option, a chance to win a fashion gift basket and photo ops. Every dollar goes to Hope House, the theater says.<\/p>\n

The party starts at 6:30 p.m. at the theater, 114. W. Maple Ave. The movie begins at 7 p.m.<\/p>\n

Dress to impress Miranda or not, no judgment, organizers say. Or wear blue to honor Hope House.<\/p>\n
