A new celebrity series of The Great Pottery Throw Down has just confirmed its lineup, and it includes some famous faces you’ll recognise from Taskmaster and Strictly Come Dancing, among other things.<\/p>\n

Presented by Taskmaster<\/a> star Liza Tarbuck, The Great Celebrity Pottery Throw Down sees a group of celebrities trying their hand at shaping clay and sitting at the wheel as they are tasked to complete a series of ceramic challenges.<\/p>\n

The celebrity potters competing on the Channel 4 show include actor, singer and presenter Denise Van Outen, actor Layton Williams<\/a>, and former footballer and pundit Paul Merson, with the trio having taken part in Strictly<\/a> in 2012, 2023 and 2024, respectively.<\/p>\n

Hailing from Taskmaster are comedians Richard Herring, Lucy Beaumont<\/a>, and Fatiha El-Ghorri, who appeared on the Alex Horne and Greg Davies show on season 10, 16 and 19.<\/p>\n

Unlike the original format, the celebrity version of The Great Pottery Throw Down won’t feature any weekly eliminations but will give the chance to the six stars to fully immerse themselves in the various techniques and make the most of their pottery journey.<\/p>\n

Tarbuck joins judges Keith Brymer Jones and Rich Miller, with the presenter praising the duo for showing “encouragement and kindness” to the “newbie potters”.<\/p>\n

“I knew I’d enjoy Keith and Rich’s company and I did. People flourish around emotionally intelligent people, and the boys’ encouragement and kindness really promoted a growth in our newbie potters that was a pleasure to witness,” Tarbuck said in a statement. “I absolutely loved being there.”<\/p>\n

“It’s very exciting to be working with Channel 4 on this new series. It shows there is an appetite for more pottery with the success of The Great Pottery Throw Down,” executive producer Luke Byrne added. “It will be a real eye opener to see what it’s like to be a novice potter through the eyes of enthusiastic celebrities and hopefully reaching a wider audience to this incredible craft.

Channel 4 Commissioning Editor Deborah Dunnett called the series “wonderfully heartwarming” and celebrated the cast’s “show-stopping” results. <\/p>\n

“The Great Celebrity Pottery Throw Down is a wonderfully heartwarming series. For the first time we are able to discover pottery through the eyes of real beginners and follow their creative progression through to a deeply personal finale with some show-stopping results,” Dunnett said. “And of course it’s absolutely thrilling to welcome Liza to the Pottery family.”<\/p>\n
