Three years after her husband, Kyle Jacobs, suddenly passed away, country star Kellie Pickler is preparing to make an extremely rare public appearance. <\/p>\n

The \u201cBest Day of Your Life\u201d hitmaker is slated to return to American Idol 20 years after she first competed on the show. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe are going to party like it\u2019s 2006,\u201d the show\u2019s official companion podcast host, Danielle Fishel, declared<\/a> on Wednesday. \u201cWhen some of the favorite top 10 finalists from that historic season will return to duet\u00a0with this season\u2019s top five<\/p>\n

Fishel also announced that Pickler, one of the Season 5 finalists, will return to the show on May 4. Other Season 5 performers returning include the season\u2019s winner, Taylor Hicks, as well as Paris Bennett, Elliot Yamin, and Bucky Covington\u00a0<\/p>\n

Original\u00a0American Idol\u00a0judges, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson, will also be appearing on the episode.<\/span> <\/p>\n

Pickler placed sixth on Season 5. Her rise to fame in country music came soon after. <\/p>\n

The Singer Hasn\u2019t Made Many Public Appearances in the Past Few Years <\/h2>\n

Pickler previously stepped away from the public spotlight shortly after Jacobs died by suicide in February 2023. He was 49 years old. <\/p>\n

In a statement, Pickler thanked her fans for their support throughout the tragedy. <\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the most beautiful lessons my husband taught me was in a moment of a crisis, if you don\u2019t know what to do, \u2018do nothing, just be still,’\u201d she said. \u201cI have chosen to heed his advice.\u201d <\/p>\n

Acknowledging everyone who had reached out, Pickler added, \u201cIt has truly touched my soul, and it\u2019s helping me get through the darkest time in my life. As many of you have told me, you are all in my prayers.\u201d <\/p>\n

She returned to the stage for the first time since Jacobs death for the Patsy Cline tribute at the Ryman Auditorium in April 2024. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d be lying if I didn\u2019t say I was incredibly nervous right now,\u201d Pickler declared at the time. \u201cIt\u2019s the first time I\u2019ve been up on stage in a while.\u201d <\/p>\n

The country singer made a special tribute to Jacobs during that performance. \u201cI know he is here with us tonight,\u201d she told the crowd. <\/p>\n

The couple first became romantically linked in 2008 and married in early 2011. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
