An actor who appeared in several hit action films such as \u201cPulp Fiction\u201d and the \u201cMission: Impossible\u201d franchise is on the mend following a recent health scare.<\/p>\n
Ving Rhames, 66, is recovering after the actor collapsed while dining at a Los Angeles restaurant with his family on Wednesday. Rhames was rushed to the hospital on the afternoon of April 29 after collapsing at his table at Granville restaurant in North Hollywood, TMZ reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n A spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department told Entertainment Weekly<\/a> that paramedics responded to the call of \u201ca 66-year-old male for an unconfirmed medical condition.\u201d They \u201cassessed, treated, and transported\u201d him for medical care.<\/p>\n Members of Rhames\u2019 team later confirmed that the film star had left the hospital, was heading home and was in good spirits.<\/p>\n \u201cI spoke to Mr. Rhames via phone shortly after and since then and he sounded like everyday Ving,\u201d a representative for the actor told EW. \u201cHe made a humorous remark.\u201d<\/p>\n Rhames\u2019 manager, Brad Kramer, also told Variety<\/a> that the film star \u201csounded like everyday Ving and cracked a joke over the phone.\u201d<\/p>\n Rhames first rose to fame through his roles in the films \u201cJacob\u2019s Ladder\u201d (1990), \u201cThe People Under the Stairs\u201d (1991) and \u201cPulp Fiction\u201d (1994). He attained further recognition from portraying Luther Stickell in the \u201cMission: Impossible\u201d film series. Rhames is the only actor besides Tom Cruise to appear in all eight movies.<\/p>\n Rhames\u2019 other notable works include \u201cCon Air\u201d (1997), \u201cRosewood\u201d (1997), \u201cOut of Sight\u201d (1998) and \u201cDawn of the Dead\u201d (2004). He also voiced Cobra Bubbles in Disney\u2019s \u201cLilo & Stitch\u201d (2002).
