A series of musical events is underway at the Museo di Palazzo Davanzati, thanks to a collaboration between the Galleria dell\u2019Accademia di Firenze and musei del Bargello and the Department of Early Music at the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory of Florence. The performance will open with Concerto IV from Scarlatti\u2019s Sacred Concertos, Op. II, and the aria Va tacito e nascosto<\/em> from Handel\u2019s Giulio Cesare. The second part will explore chamber music repertoire with Scarlatti\u2019s cantata Quelle pace gradita<\/em> for soprano and instruments, followed by two Handel arias Sweet Rose and Lily<\/em> from Theodora and Tirannia mia bella<\/em> from Lotario.<\/p>\n The second concert, scheduled for Friday, May 8th at 5:30 pm<\/strong>, will be dedicated to the great instrumental repertoire of the German Baroque, with a focus on Johann Sebastian Bach and Georg Philipp Telemann. The program will focus on some of Bach\u2019s most famous pieces, including the Violin Concerto in A minor, BWV 1041, the Harpsichord Concerto in A major, BWV 1055, and the Concerto for Two Violins in D minor, BWV 1043, alongside Telemann\u2019s Harrach Concerto in G minor for recorder, strings, and continuo.<\/p>\n The series will conclude on Friday, May 29th at 5:30 pm<\/strong> with Johann David Heinichen\u2019s Sonata a 4 in G, followed by works by Dietrich Buxtehude and Georg Philipp Telemann, including the motet Quemadmodum desiderat cervus and Psalm 117, which will feature a larger vocal and instrumental ensemble.
