Kathy Griffin<\/a> is adding her name to the support flooding in for Jimmy Kimmel<\/a> as President Donald Trump<\/a> continues to call on ABC<\/a> to fire the late night host over a joke he cracked<\/a> about the first lady.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The comedian, in Tuesday\u2019s episode<\/a> of her \u201cTalk Your Head Off\u201d podcast, said she was \u201ctearing up a bit\u201d before likening Kimmel\u2019s ordeal to the backlash she faced over her 2017 photo<\/a> with a fake decapitated head of the president.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cMan, do I wish somebody had done this for me,\u201d said Griffin while sporting a \u201cJimmy Kimmel Live!\u201d shirt.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Her remarks arrive as Donald and Melania Trump<\/a> attempt to pressure the network into giving Kimmel the boot after the host quipped that the first lady was glowing \u201clike an expectant widow\u201d in a show filmed days before the shooting outside the White House Correspondents\u2019 Association dinner.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The first couple drew further attention to the joke after a clip from Kimmel\u2019s ABC show circulated in MAGA social media spaces earlier this week.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Kimmel \u2014 whose show was briefly yanked off the air last year following comments on the suspect in Charlie Kirk\u2019s assassination \u2014 has offered a defiant response<\/a> to the recent wave of criticism.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
