\n\tAs Lizzo<\/a> promised, she is \u201creclaiming\u201d the word \u201cb\u2013ch\u201d on the title track to the singer\u2019s upcoming album<\/a> of the same name. Lizzo dropped the boldly titled single on Friday (May 1), giving fans the first taste of her third studio LP, which is due on June 5.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe song, which interpolates singer Meredith Brooks\u2019 strident 1997 Billboard Hot 100<\/a> No. 2 single of the same name, is the second taste of the album, following on the heels of the smoldering love-me-or-leave-me \u201cDon\u2019t Make Me Love U<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a statement describing the inspiration for the follow-up to 2022\u2019s Special<\/em>, Lizzo said, \u201cReclaiming the word \u2018b\u2014h\u2019\u00a0is power \u2014 it\u2019s taking a label once used to diminish women and turning it into a declaration of confidence and unapologetic self-love. So many incredible women in music have used the word for positivity, like Meredith Brooks and Missy Elliott. It was only fitting to name my album\u00a0Bitch<\/em>\u00a0because it has become my favorite word when using it on my own terms and because I am 100% that b\u2014h!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tA preview of the song<\/a> posted on Thursday (April 30) featured an intro from Katt Williams, who warns, \u201cIt\u2019s a line, if you cross it, that\u2019s your motherf\u2013kin\u2019 ass!,\u201d a bit taken from the comedian\u2019s 2024 Woke Foke<\/em> comedy special in which he defended Lizzo against her detractors. The singer included Williams\u2019 follow-up wisdom in the caption to the snippet, \u201cYou can be fat, you can be black, but you can\u2019t be no fat black B\u2014H, BITCH<\/em> drops tonight yall ready?!\u201d in the sneak peek that also included a short bit of the bouncy refrain, \u201cShe\u2019s a b\u2014h, She\u2019s a b\u2014h, OK?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tLizzo first coined the latter phrase on her diamond-selling 2017 single \u201cTruth Hurts,\u201d in which she pronounced herself 100% that \u2026 one. She doubled-down on the upcoming LP\u2019s profane title with the provocative cover art, which shows the singer\u2019s right hand flipping the bird, with a miniature version of her subbing in for the middle finger, arms held high above her head in triumph.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe album\u2019s Spotify\u00a0preview page\u00a0<\/a>reveals that it is slated to feature 12 tracks, whose titles include \u201cA Toast,\u201d \u201cHappy 2 Be,\u201d \u201cDon\u2019t Make Me Love U,\u201d \u201cBitch,\u201d \u201cShe Stole My Man,\u201d \u201cWhose Hair Is This,\u201d \u201cLittle Black Cat,\u201d \u201cSexy Ladies, \u201cThat Grrrl,\u201d \u201cToo Nice,\u201d \u201cLike a Crime\u201d and \u201cGoodmorning!\u201d<\/p>\n
