Jimmy Fowlie<\/a>, a writer for NBC\u2019s \u201cSaturday Night Live,\u201d said in an Instagram post Wednesday<\/a> that his sister was \u201cno longer alive\u201d four months after he said she had gone missing.<\/p>\n \u201cThe LAPD has informed our family that Christina is no longer alive, and the case has officially transitioned from a missing person to a homicide investigation,\u201d Fowlie wrote on the social media platform.<\/p>\n \u201cOur prayers for her to be found safely have transformed into prayers for the truth to be revealed and for those responsible to be held accountable,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n In a statement, the Los Angeles Police Department appeared to contradict Fowlie\u2019s claim, saying law enforcement officials continue to investigate Christina Downer\u2019s disappearance.<\/p>\n \u201cRobbery-Homicide Division continues to investigate the disappearance of Christina Downer,\u201d an LAPD spokesperson told NBC News. \u201cAlthough the circumstances of her disappearance are suspicious, Ms. Downer has not been located, and her case has not been reclassified as a homicide.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cRHD will diligently investigate this case until a resolution can be reached,\u201d the spokesperson added, referring to the robbery-homicide division.<\/p>\n
