The Queen attended in a bid to highlight her popular book club, The Queen\u2019s Reading Room and celebrate literature with guests who included Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker and former US President George W. Bush\u2019s daughhter and TV host, Jenna Bush Hager.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
At the event, Camilla told Jenna that their trip to the US had been a \u201cwhistlestop,\u201d adding: \u201cIt\u2019s been really good fun, but we have moved quite fast.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
On Thursday\u2019s episode of Today, the TV star spoke about what it was like spending time with the monarch\u2019s wife.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
She said: \u201cShe is lovely and very hilarious. She has a deep and abiding passion for books.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
During Wednesday\u2019s event, the broadcaster said the royal couple had been to \u201ca lot of places\u201d, to which the Queen replied: \u201cWe have, but it\u2019s been wonderful and everybody\u2019s been very kind and welcoming.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s always a pleasure to be here. Always lovely to be back in New York.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Camilla mentioned how her love of reading stemmed from her father, saying: \u201cOh, but he was wonderful.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
\u201cHe used to sit at the end of our beds every night and read us these incredibly exciting stories, some of them quite frightening, pillows over our head, but he just gave us this incredible interest.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
