Last year we named the LA alt-pop group Junior Varsity a Band To Watch<\/a>. They’ve since pared down to a duo, with singer Brooke Danaher no longer listed as a band member and singer-songwriter-producers Greg Aram and Zach Michel remaining. Last month they released a single called “Radio<\/a>,” and it turns out that song is part of a new EP out today called Ready<\/em>. <\/p>\n There are four more full-fledged songs plus an intro here, and they continue to put an immaculate 2010s-ish professional sheen on 2000s-ish indie-pop throwbacks. The appealing guy-girl vocal dynamic remains intact thanks to guest spots from artists including Oxis, Lola Blue, the Teenagers, and Unflirt, and the production is sparkly and propulsive. <\/p>\n This EP is billed as Side A, and it’s got me eager to hear Side B when it drops later this year.
