Mobican<\/a>, a Canadian family-owned case goods<\/a> furniture<\/a> manufacturer, is broadening its product portfolio and customer base as it pursues growth in the U.S. market.<\/p>\n Speaking with Furniture Today at the spring High Point Market<\/a>, the third- generation business says it\u2019s launching a new product line of entertainment units<\/a>, a significant departure from its signature Scandinavian- influenced bedroom and dining collections.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have always been known for bedrooms, dinning and a little bit of upholstery<\/a>,\u201d said Mathieu Selmay, vice president for sales. \u00a0\u201cNow we want to offer something different and get new customers that don\u2019t necessarily know us.\u201d<\/p>\n See also:<\/strong> Montreal-based Transformer Table expands into B2B after e-commerce growth<\/a><\/p>\n To meet its growing demand, Mobican<\/a> moved into its new 100,000-square-foot certified manufacturing facility in Montreal<\/a> last year, meeting recognized environmental and quality standards.<\/p>\n \u201cThe new facility is 35 minutes away from downtown Montreal and employs 70 people. We have agents across the U.S.,\u201d said Selmay.<\/p>\n The company says its also adjusting its aesthetic to better suite the American market.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have been shipping to the U.S. since day one ,\u201d he said. \u201cWe are selling to retailers in the West Coast, Arizona, Florida, across the U.S. and Canada. We are shifting towards larger scale proportions to capture a broader demographic of U.S. retail buyers.\u201d<\/p>\n Mobican<\/a> offers more than 100 fabric and vinyl<\/a> options alongside a range of wood species and hardware finishes<\/a>, allowing product customization<\/a>.
