{"id":2400036,"date":"2026-05-03T10:41:56","date_gmt":"2026-05-03T10:41:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/?p=2400036"},"modified":"2026-05-03T10:41:56","modified_gmt":"2026-05-03T10:41:56","slug":"sussex-comedian-confirmed-for-new-series-of-celebrity-traitors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/sussex-comedian-confirmed-for-new-series-of-celebrity-traitors\/","title":{"rendered":"Sussex comedian confirmed for new series of Celebrity Traitors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div data-article-body=\"true\">\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">A Sussex comedian is among the stars confirmed for the new series of Celebrity Traitors.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Crawley-born Romesh Ranganathan will join famous faces including Welsh actor Michael Sheen, EastEnders\u2019 Ross Kemp and The Last Of Us star Bella Ramsey for the upcoming hit BBC show.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The beloved reality game show will see 21 stars head to the Scottish castle in the Highlands for the chance to win a cash prize of up to \u00a3100,000 for a charity of their choice.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\"><span class=\"inline-image-caption\">Composite of file photos of the 21 celebrities who have been confirmed for the upcoming series of Celebrity Traitors (Image: PA\/PA Wire)<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Hosted by Claudia Winkleman, the game follows the celebrity contestants \u2013 the majority of who are known as faithfuls \u2013 as they try to seek out the murderous traitors among them, who kill off players in the middle of the night.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The broadcaster revealed its star-studded line-up on Saturday and shared a video on its Instagram page showing a number of drivers waiting at arrivals each holding one of the roundtable name slates revealing the stars\u2019 names on them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">As has become famous on the show, some of the stars\u2019 names included hearts next to them or were misspelled, including Rob Beckett\u2019s which was spelled \u201cRob Bucket\u201d, before Winkleman could be heard saying: \u201cWelcome to the Highlands. The Celebrity Traitors coming this autumn.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Industry actress Myha\u2019la Herrold is among the stars joining the series and will appear alongside American supermodel Jerry Hall and Saltburn actor Richard E Grant.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">A number of comedians will also join the second series of the spin-off show, including James Acaster, Joe Lycett and Joanne McNally.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">They will face singer-songwriter James Blunt, former Little Mix star Leigh-Anne Pinnock, actress Miranda Hart and Love Island presenter Maya Jama in a bid to catch the treacherous traitors.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Others joining the line-up include Coronation street star Julie Hesmondhalgh, broadcaster Amol Rajan, and Scottish actress Sharon Rooney.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\"><span class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Broadcaster and mathematician Professor Hannah Fry completes the line-up alongside content creator King Kenny and actor Sebastian Croft.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The first series of The Celebrity Traitors aired on the BBC last autumn, with its nail-biting finale hitting a peak of 15.4 million viewers, according to the broadcaster.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">It featured a star-studded cast including actors Celia Imrie and Nick Mohammed, singer Paloma Faith, author and actor Sir Stephen Fry, broadcaster Jonathan Ross and comedian Alan Carr, who went on to win as a Traitor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The spin-off series brought in an average audience of 14.9 million people during its run \u2013 the biggest TV audience of 2025.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Celebrity Traitors will air on the BBC and iPlayer
