With\u00a0IU\u00a0undergraduate commencement ceremony\u00a0coming up\u00a0Saturday,\u00a0there is a week to celebrate the end of your semester or college\u00a0career.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Orbit Room will host live music with\u00a0<\/span>Okapi<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0and local band\u00a0<\/span>American Pirates<\/span><\/span><\/a>.\u00a0The\u00a0music\u00a0will start at 8:15 p.m. and\u00a0<\/span>tickets<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0for the show\u00a0cost\u00a0$11.33,\u00a0with\u00a0an\u00a0additional\u00a0food or drink purchase\u00a0required. Okapi, based in Asheville, North\u00a0Carolina,\u00a0is a music duo who plays\u00a0experimental folk music.\u00a0<\/span>American Pirates<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0are\u00a0a local Bloomington band who\u00a0experiments\u00a0with folk\u00a0music.\u00a0The band released a\u00a0new album titled \u201c<\/span>What a Friend<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u201d\u00a0in\u00a0March.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Music will begin at 7 p.m., and\u00a0<\/span>tickets<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0for the show\u00a0cost\u00a0$13.60 with an\u00a0additional\u00a0food or drink purchase\u00a0required.\u00a0Linkletter is a Bloomington based\u00a0screamo band, which is a subgenre of emo and hardcore punk characterized by high-pitched shrieked vocals. Swan Wash\u00a0and Louse\u00a0mainly\u00a0play\u00a0goth rock and punk music.\u00a0The True\u00a0Faith also mainly\u00a0plays\u00a0punk\u00a0music.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Jacob Kynard<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0will perform with opener\u00a0<\/span>Lou Finch<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0at the Orbit Room\u00a0on Thursday. The show,\u00a0open to all ages, will start at 6 p.m. and\u00a0<\/span>tickets<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0cost $13.60,\u00a0with\u00a0an\u00a0additional\u00a0food or drink purchase\u00a0required.\u00a0Kynard plays southern folk and country music and has a new\u00a0single out\u00a0titled \u201c<\/span>Brand new Ball and Chain Blues.<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u201d\u00a0Finch is a Bloomington-based\u00a0musician\u00a0who plays a variety of\u00a0music, but\u00a0usually\u00a0performs\u00a0indie\u00a0music.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Benjamin Tod<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0will perform at The Bluebird for ages 21\u00a0and\u00a0up. The show will begin at 8 p.m. and\u00a0<\/span>tickets<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0cost $42.23. Tod is a singer-songwriter\u00a0from Tennessee, typically blending folk and country music.\u00a0He just released a new album titled \u201c<\/span>Vengeance and Grace<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u201d\u00a0on April\u00a017.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Bloomington\u00a0<\/span>Food Truck Friday<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0will return this week offering food trucks from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.\u00a0at Switchyard Park.\u00a0The\u00a0free event often features live music from 5-9 p.m., but\u00a0organizers\u00a0will\u00a0announce the performer closer to the date on\u00a0the\u00a0event\u2019s\u00a0<\/span>F<\/span>acebook<\/span><\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Chicago-based band\u00a0<\/span>Rod Tuffcurls and the Bench Press<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0will perform at The Bluebird. The 21-and-up show will start at 8 p.m. with\u00a0<\/span>tickets<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0costing $20.72.\u00a0The group\u00a0mainly plays\u00a0pop and rock cover songs at their\u00a0shows.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

IU\u00a0alumnus\u00a0<\/span>Hank Ruff<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0will perform at The Bluebird\u00a0on\u00a0Saturday\u00a0evening. The show, for ages 21\u00a0and\u00a0up, will start at 9 p.m., and\u00a0<\/span>tickets<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0will cost $12.43.\u00a0Ruff plays country music and has some\u00a0<\/span>original releases<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0on Spotify.\u00a0His latest single \u201c<\/span>From Here<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u201d released April\u00a015.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
