Terri Irwin<\/strong> just revealed the one major difference between her son Robert Irwin<\/a><\/strong> and his late father Steve Irwin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n While speaking to People<\/a><\/em> at the annual Steve Irwin Gala on Saturday<\/a>, May 2, Terri and Robert reflected on how \u201cincredibly special\u201d it has been to carry on The Crocodile Hunter<\/em> star’s legacy together.<\/p>\n \u201cEverything started so small,\u201d Terri said of her husband transforming the Queensland Reptile and Fauna Park into the Australia Zoo in 1998. \u201cIt was two acres, it was a few animals, and it was no filming. And so to see where we’ve gone, and to have Steve embrace that, was so impressive.\u201d<\/p>\n Every year, Terri, Robert, and his sister<\/a>Bindi Irwin<\/strong> host the gala to fund conservation work in Steve’s memory.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was a lot of work, it was a lot of grief<\/a>,\u201d Terri said of her and Robert’s journey to where they are now. \u201cThere were times of great joy. And to be able to have shared that with him was incredibly special\u2014and carry it on.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cBut I will say the one thing that Robert’s got that Steve didn’t\u2014Steve never took his shirt off for wildlife,” she added.<\/p>\n RELATED: Robert Irwin Announces His Post-\u2018DWTS\u2019 Plans\u2014and Fans Are Thrilled<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Along with appearing shirtless for performances on Dancing With The Stars<\/em>, Robert went viral last year for an underwear campaign he did with Australian brand Bonds.<\/p>\n In response to his mother’s comment, Robert said he’s just been doing \u201cwhatever gets the job done.\u201d<\/p>\n He also emphasized that his father, who died in 2006 after being attacked by a stingray, will always serve as his \u201cgreatest inspiration\u201d in everything he does. Robert was only 2 years old at the time of Steve’s death.<\/p>\n \u201cHe would really exemplify what it is to give everything 100 percent,\u201d Robert said. \u201cAnd that’s what I take into everything I do.
