Martha Stewart is on a nickname basis with the British monarch King Charles III, as she’s now comfortable with the royal on a personal level.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

TMZ spotted Martha, 84, outside The Whitby Hotel in New York<\/a> City on Wednesday, April 29, and asked her if she was going to see King Charles<\/a> and Queen Camilla, who visited the United States from April 27 to April 30. The Emmy-winning television host appeared to find the name Charles a bit too formal, saying she just calls the King “Chuck.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Irrespective of what Martha called King Charles, she said that he and his wife, Queen Camilla<\/a>, both looked great, according to the news outlet.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Social media exploded with reactions after news of Martha calling King Charles “Chuck” went viral on X, formerly Twitter.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“This is the most casual royal nickname I\u2019ve ever hear [laughing emojis],” one wrote on X as another added, “Calling the king ‘Chuck’ is wild [laughing emoji].”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Another added, “We\u2019re all human at the end of the day, and relationships grant access. It doesn\u2019t matter how high and mighty, there\u2019s always people who have that level of access and bond. We all have that playful, human side even Chuck.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

While someone else shared, “Chuck is crazy [laughing and eye emoji]. Martha Stewart really said casual vibes with King Charles III.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Although many saw the humor in Martha’s nickname for King Charles III, others questioned whether it was on the cusp of being disrespectful, given his status.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

“Calling a monarch ‘Chuck’ might sound casual and humorous, but it also raises the question of where informality crosses into disrespect when it comes to long standing institutions built on protocol and symbolism,” one commenter explained.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
