Excited moviegoers and fans of the 2006 movie \u201cThe Devil Wears Prada\u201d welcomed Meryl Streep\u2019s Miranda Priestly back to the screen over the weekend, piling into theaters to see the film\u2019s sequel more than 20 years later.<\/p>\n

But for New Orleans area fans, that\u2019s not all \u2014 the film featured a cameo from Grammy-winning musician and native son Jon Batiste.<\/p>\n

Batiste, who is fresh off a headlining set at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival\u2019s Festival Stage on April 24, appeared in the movie alongside his wife, writer Suleika Jaouad.<\/p>\n

The duo shares a scene with Streep, posing as guests for lunch at Priestly\u2019s Hamptons home, Harper\u2019s Bazaar<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Batiste teased the couple\u2019s cameo on Instagram last week with a photo taken on the red carpet at the movie\u2019s New York City premiere.<\/p>\n

Batiste, who grew up in Kenner, has won eight Grammy Awards and received 25 nominations, including “Album of the Year in 2022 for his album \u201cWe Are.\u201d He\u2019s also appeared in other major films, including \u201cSaturday Night\u201d and \u201cThe Color Purple.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Devil Wears Prada 2\u201d is the long-awaited sequel to the 2006 movie adapted from the best-selling novel. Anne Hathaway\u2019s Andy Sachs returns to help Priestly\u2019s \u201cRunway\u201d magazine as it struggles in the digital age. Emily Blunt\u2019s Emily Charlton and Stanley Tucci\u2019s Nigel Kipling also return.<\/p>\n

Batiste and Jaouad aren\u2019t the only famous cameos in the film, either. Lady Gaga, Donatella Versace and Heidi Klum all make an appearance, along with a handful of other celebrities and influencers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
