Cameron Diaz and Good Charlotte rocker Benji Madden have welcomed their third child together, a boy, surprising fans with the news of their growing family on May 4.<\/p>\n
\u201cHappy, excited, and feeling so blessed,\u201d Madden wrote on\u00a0his Instagram<\/a>, adding that their crew is \u201chealthy & happy\u201d and \u201chaving a blast.\u201d<\/p>\n Diaz responded in the comments with a string of heart emoji.<\/p>\n The couple chose the name Nautas for their son. Drawn from the Latin nauta,\u00a0meaning sailor<\/a>, the name leans into a spirit of adventure.<\/p>\n In the announcement graphic, Madden included a definition describing Nautas as \u201csailor, navigator, voyager, one who embarks on a journey and fears not the unknown,\u201d pairing it with an image of a ship in full sail, marked with a bold \u201cN.\u201d<\/p>\n They did not disclose additional details about the birth.<\/p>\n Madden, 47, and Diaz, 53, are also parents to\u00a0daughter Raddix, 6, and son Cardinal, 2,<\/a>\u00a0and have long made a point of keeping their children out of the spotlight, opting not to share photos of them publicly.<\/p>\n Diaz was, for a stretch in the early 2000s, one of the highest paid actors in Hollywood, earning up to $30 million for certain projects,\u00a0according to The Los Angeles Times<\/a>. In the years that followed, she gradually stepped back from acting, but\u00a0returned<\/a>\u00a0in 2025 for a Netflix film, \u201cBack In Action,\u201d alongside Jamie Foxx. It was her first time acting since her 2014 film \u201cAnnie.\u201d<\/p>\n In a conversation\u00a0with Gwyneth Paltrow in 2020,<\/a>\u00a0she said she stepped back from acting to \u201ctake responsibility for my life,\u201d describing the decision as bringing a \u201cpeace in my soul.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI love being a mother.
