This morning, Miranda Lambert<\/strong><\/a> announced her first release with MCA called \u201cCrisco,\u201d which will very much lean into the disco elements that tons of country legends have incorporated into their music. The song is due out on May 15th, and was written by Miranda along with Aaron Raitiere, Jesse Frasure and Chill Fellacheck.<\/p>\n Miranda says she included a lot of country elements she\u2019s never \u201cput on tape before,\u201d and it\u2019s meant to be a fun, and maybe a little nostalgic, song that fans can simply enjoy for what it is without overthinking anything:<\/p>\n \u201cIt has so many elements of the country music that I love that I\u2019ve never put on tape. There\u2019s a looseness to it, a joy. It feels like dancing in your kitchen with the person you love, spinning old records, not overthinking a thing.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n I love 70s-era music of any kind, and really any genre, so I love that she\u2019s playing with that here. From iconic songs like \u201cSouthern Nights\u201d and of course \u201cIslands in the Stream,\u201d it\u2019s nothing new for disco to be part of country. I mean, who could forget the whole Urban Cowboy<\/em> scene? But I\u2019m here for it because Miranda is the kind of artist who can do it and do it well. And wh<\/p>\n The teasers she\u2019s shared are super fun too, with plenty of rhinestones to go around which I will never be mad at\u2026 plus it all centers around butter, which is a topic I think most humans can bond over and we need more of that, for sure:<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s a rhinestone world we\u2019re livin\u2019 in\u2026 \u2018Crisco\u2019 Out May 15th.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n You can listen to part of \u201cCrisco\u201d here:<\/p>\n This announcement comes just a couple weeks after Miranda announced that she will release future music with MCA<\/a><\/strong>, marking a new chapter in her decorated recording career. Miranda was previously with Republic for a couple of years, and MCA has an impressive roster of country artists, so it\u2019s clear she\u2019s ready to get back to a Nashville-based label and continue her commitment to the creative community and roots that have long shaped her artistry.<\/p>\n Miranda will now be label mates with George Strait, Chris Stapleton, Sam Hunt, Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, and Reba McEntire, and she will fit right in and certainly be an asset to an already-impressive group of artists.<\/p>\n With her moving to MCA, it makes a ton of sense to start putting out new music right away, and it looks like the next era of Miranda is upon us, and considering how sparkly it already is, consider me highly intrigued. It\u2019s likely that an album announcement\u00a0isn\u2019t coming too far behind the release of \u201cCrisco,\u201d so stay tuned.<\/p>\n Miranda most recently put out her most recent album Postcards from Texas<\/em> in 2024, and she\u2019s been working with Ella Langley to write and produce her monster new album Dandelion, where she\u2019s also featured on a duet called \u201cButterfly Season,\u201d<\/a><\/strong> in addition to appearing on Kacey Musgraves\u2019 highly-anticipated album for a duet called \u201cHorses and Divorces,\u201d<\/a><\/strong> which I have not stopped listening to.<\/p>\n Also, Miranda teamed up with Chris Stapleton for a very disco-inspired duet called \u201cA Song To Sing\u201d last year, which seems to have been a hint about what she had up her sleeve:<\/p>\n \u201cA Song To Sing\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<\/blockquote>\n
