Jimmy Kimmel<\/a> on Monday said he had a feeling President Donald Trump<\/a>\u2019s loyal MAGA media followers would find a way to blame him for the hospitalization<\/a> of former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cSure enough, one of these podcast bozos points to a joke I made about Rudy on Thursday, about him being a vampire, and then suggests I might actually have some inside knowledge of what\u2019s going on in Trumptown there,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Kimmel often makes jokes about Giuliani being a vampire, and last week cracked that he \u201crose from the grave\u201d to record his podcast. But with Giuliani hospitalized with pneumonia days after the joke, figures in right-wing media attacked Kimmel<\/a>. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cAnd then that becomes a thing,\u201d Kimmel said in disbelief and rolled footage of a Newsmax panel slamming him for his joke. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cIt\u2019s not funny,\u201d one of the panelists declared about his Giuliani joke. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cHe\u2019s just really not funny,\u201d another agreed. \u201cIt\u2019s abhorrent, what he\u2019s doing under the gauze of comedy.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n When the camera came back to Kimmel, he was standing under a giant gauze held up by his writers. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cThe gauze gives me psychic abilities. This is how I work: Every day in the morning, I wake up, I make coffee, and then I look into the future to see which events have yet to occur,\u201d he explained. \u201cAnd then we write jokes, but we write jokes that we know are going to make trouble.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n That\u2019s a reference to not just his Giuliani\/vampire crack, but a joke last month when he said first lady Melania Trump<\/a> was glowing \u201clike an expectant widow\u201d during a mock roast<\/a> days before the White House Correspondents\u2019 Association Dinner.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Days later, after a gunman tried to get into<\/a> the actual dinner, both the president and first lady called on ABC to fire Kimmel. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Despite the latest outrage on the right, Kimmel said he wished Giuliani well. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cFor the record, I hope Rudy Giuliani lives another hundred years.
