“M.I.A. is no longer on this tour. I told my management to send a notice to her team before we started the tour that I didn’t want anything offensive at my shows, cuz I already knew what time it was, and I was assured things were understood,” Cudi wrote.<\/p>\n
Earlier this year, Cudi announced that M.I.A., best known for her 2007 hit “Paper Planes,” would be one of the guests joining him for select dates of his 30-city North American tour<\/a>. During the Dallas show on Saturday, May 2, she went on a diatribe about her political views and other remarks, prompting boos from the audience, according to Variety<\/a>, Consequence of Sound<\/a> and viral videos<\/a> circulating on social media.<\/p>\nIn his announcement, Cudi said he has been inundated with messages from fans “that were upset by her rants.”<\/p>\n
“After the last couple shows, I’ve been flooded with messages from fans that were upset by her rants,” he continued. “This, to me, is very disappointing, and I won’t have someone on my tour making offensive remarks that upsets my fanbase. Thank you for understanding.”<\/p>\n
