Gymnast Simone Biles<\/strong><\/a> put her money where her mouth is when she opted out <\/em>of attending this year’s Met Gala<\/a> and spent a cozy night in at her custom mansion instead\u2014days after she spoke out to decry the exorbitant cost of attending celebrity events<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Biles, 29, has made two appearance on the Met Gala red carpet<\/a> in recent years, first in 2021, then again in 2025, when she and husband Jonathan Owens<\/strong><\/a> attended the event together for the first time as a couple. <\/p>\n

However, the three-time Olympian and her NFL star spouse were noticeably absent at this year’s soiree\u2014which was sponsored by Jeff Bezos <\/strong>and Lauren Sanchez<\/strong><\/a>, and saw the likes of Beyonce<\/a><\/strong>, Rihanna<\/a><\/strong>, Nicole Kidman<\/a><\/strong>, and Sabrina Carpenter<\/a><\/strong> in attendance. <\/p>\n
