Foreign Tongues <\/em>in July, with a star-studded list of guest appearances including Paul McCartney, Steve Winwood, Robert Smith and Red Hot Chili Peppers\u2019 Chad Smith.<\/p>\n\n\tForeign Tongues, <\/em>due July 10 through Capitol Records, marks the Rolling Stones\u2019 25th album and follows 2023\u2019s Hackney Diamonds. <\/em>With the announcement, the Stones also released the album\u2019s lead single, \u201cIn The Stars,\u201d as well as the album\u2019s opening track \u201cRough and Twisted.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\tThe album will feature a performance from late drummer Charlie Watts, according to a press release shared Tuesday, marking one of the drummer\u2019s final performances before he died in 2021. Prolific producer Andrew Watt, who also produced Hackney Diamonds <\/em>as well as McCartney\u2019s upcoming The Boys of Dungeon Lane, <\/em>is producing this album as well. <\/p>\n\n\tAlong with the Stones\u2019 Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood, touring band members and frequent collaborators Darryl Jones, Matt Clifford and Steve Jordan are on the album as well. The band said they recorded much of the album in under a month at Metropolis Studios in London. <\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cI love doing these recording sessions in London at Metropolis,\u201d Jagger said in a statement of the new album. \u201cIt was a very intense few weeks recording Foreign Tongues.<\/em> We had 14 great tracks and we went as fast as we could. I like the room there as it\u2019s not too big so you can feel the passion in the room from everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\tAs Richards added: \u201cThe Foreign Tongues <\/em>album has a continuity from Hackney Diamonds<\/em> and it was great to be working in London again, and to have that London vibe around us. It was a month of concentrated punch. To me, it\u2019s all about the enjoyment of it.\u00a0 I\u2019m blessed to be able to do this and long may it last.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\tJagger, Richards and Wood are holding an event in Brooklyn Tuesday to celebrate the album\u2019s announcement. <\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cThe atmosphere in the room was so creative, and the whole band was on top form throughout the whole process,\u201d Wood said in a statement of the upcoming album. \u201cVery often we nailed it on the first take. I hope everyone loves it.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
