Following the recent cancellation of more concerts, Dolly Parton<\/a> opens up about her health. <\/p>\n In a recent Instagram<\/a> post, the country music icon gave an update about her life since the passing of her husband, Carl Thomas Dean, who died in early 2025<\/a>. <\/p>\n \u201cFirst, it\u2019s concerning my health \u2014 and I have some good news and a little bad news,\u201d she explained. \u201cBut the good news is I\u2019m responding really well to meds and treatments, and I\u2019m improving every day. Now, the bad news is that it\u2019s gonna take me a little while before I\u2019m up to stage performance level because some of the meds and treatments make me a little swimmy-headed, as my grandma used to say.\u201d <\/p>\n Parton further shared that she couldn\u2019t be \u201cdizzy carrying around banjos, guitars and such on five-inch heels.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cAnd you know I\u2019m gonna be wearing them. Not to mention all those heavy rhinestone outfits, the big hair and my\u2026big uh personality. That would make anybody swimmy-headed,\u201d she declared. <\/p>\n The \u201c9 to 5\u201d hitmaker then spoke out about her kidney stone issues. <\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve told you before that I\u2019ve always had problems with my kidney stones,\u201d she pointed out. \u201cLord, they dig more stones out of me a year than the rock quarry in Rockwood, Tenn. But seriously, my immune system and my digestive system got all out of whack over the past couple of years, and they\u2019re working real hard on rebuilding their strength.\u201d <\/p>\n She went on to joke about not wanting her lower lip to fall off \u201con top of everything else,\u201d comparing it to \u201closing a hub cap.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cAnyway, I know I\u2019m being silly,\u201d she noted. \u201cBut I\u2019m just tryin\u2019 to keep everything light and airy.\u201d <\/p>\n Parton noted that her Las Vegas residency has been canceled. <\/p>\n Meanwhile, Parton reflected on her first year without Dean. <\/p>\n \u201cA lot of you have been concerned about me and Carl, and you were so great about that,\u201d she said. \u201cBut after going through a year of firsts, I mean the holidays, and especially our wedding anniversary, and the date of his death, March. 3, that was hard for me.\u201d <\/p>\n Parton then spoke about her home life. \u201cLord, my house and my porch looked like the botanical gardens with all the flowers, and my den looked like the post office with all the cards and letters.\u201d<\/p>\n Thanking her fans, Parton added, \u201cSo, yes, from the bottom of my heart, I thank you; you have been a big part of my healing.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\nParton Spoke About Her First Year Without Her Late Husband<\/h2>\n
