Deep Purple have confirmed their new studio album SPLAT! will arrive on July 3.<\/p>\n
\nThe record marks the latest chapter in a career that has seen the band sell more than 120 million albums since forming in 1968. <\/p>\n
\nRather than leaning on their legacy, the group say the new material captures the same energy that defined their classic era.<\/p>\n
\nFrontman Ian Gillan said the current line-up feels like a modern reflection of the band\u2019s 1970s peak.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cWhere we are now with this incarnation of Deep Purple feels very much like a very \u2018now\u2019 version of Deep Purple as it was in the seventies.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe band once again worked with legendary producer Bob Ezrin \u2014 known for his work with KISS, Pink Floyd, Lou Reed and Alice Cooper \u2014 crafting what they describe as their heaviest album in years, recorded live together in the studio.<\/p>\n
\nGillan said the new songs sit comfortably alongside some of their most iconic work.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cI have to say, now we are very much back in with material that is compatible with Highway Star, Smoke on the Water, Lazy \u2013 the dynamics, the balance, and the fun of the music we made from \u201869 to \u201873.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nAt the centre of SPLAT! is a concept developed by Gillan, exploring the end of humanity not as destruction but as transformation \u2014 a shift beyond physical existence. <\/p>\n
\nMore details on the album\u2019s theme will be revealed in the run-up to release.<\/p>\n
\nThe band will support the album with an extensive 2026 touring schedule, including 86 shows across 28 countries on three continents.<\/p>\n
\nGillan said the group are thriving as they enter this next phase, adding: \u201cDeep Purple is in a great place right now.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nSPLAT! will be released in multiple formats, including CD, digital, standard 2LP, limited purple and limited transparent yellow vinyl editions.<\/p>\n
\nA deluxe box set will feature the album on 2LP and CD, a 12-page booklet, three exclusive 10-inch live records from the 2024 tour, and a 7-inch single containing the bonus track GUINNESIS, available only in the box set.<\/p>\n
\nAdditional exclusive items \u2014 including a picture disc, cassette, and a signed canvas limited to 199 copies \u2014 will be available through the band\u2019s official store.<\/p>\n
\nThe full tracklist spans 13 songs across four LP sides, including Arrogant Boy, The Rider, Guilt Trippin\u2019, and the title track.<\/p>\n
\nNew music from the album is expected to be released in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n
