According to People<\/em><\/a>, Prince William and Kate Middleton<\/a> have officially introduced their puppy, Otto, to the public. Obsess.<\/a><\/p>\n The English cocker spaniel had already appeared days earlier in a family portrait released for William and Kate\u2019s 15th wedding anniversary, so he\u2019d been in the family for a while. However, this is the first time he\u2019s been formally identified.<\/p>\n Otto is the son of Orla, the family\u2019s black cocker spaniel, who has been with them since 2020. Kate confirmed earlier this year that they kept one male puppy from Orla\u2019s 2025 litter, quietly expanding the household before making it public. However, Kate didn\u2019t mention where the other puppies from the litter had gone.<\/p>\n The addition of Otto continues a pattern within the British royal family. The couple\u2019s first dog, Lupo\u2014also an English cocker spaniel\u2014was a fixture in early family photos after being gifted following their 2011 wedding.<\/p>\n He also appeared alongside Prince George in official portraits and was widely credited with boosting the breed\u2019s popularity across the U.K.<\/p>\n Unfortunately, Lupo died in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, marking a shift that led to Orla\u2019s arrival soon after.<\/p>\n William has previously spoken about that loss, saying, \u201cYes, we were all there, sadly.
