\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Melissa Barrera<\/strong><\/a> is not holding back with her honest thoughts about the Scream<\/em><\/strong><\/a> franchise.<\/p>\n The 35-year-old Scream<\/em> actress, who was fired from the franchise<\/a> after sharing pro-Palestine posts allegedly deemed antisemitic on social media, got candid in a new interview with Variety<\/a>.<\/p>\n If you didn\u2019t know, Melissa <\/strong>is currently in Titanique<\/em> on Broadway, and she addressed one of the moments in the musical that pays homage to the classic film with the line \u201cDo you wanna die, Sidney?\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAnd that was already there, but now it\u2019s funnier because it\u2019s directed at me!\u201d she remarked.<\/p>\n When asked if it felt like she was reclaiming Scream<\/em> by doing so, she said \u201cYeah, a little bit. The reality is that Scream<\/em> is always going to be a big part of me because it was two years of my life, it gave me a lot, and I\u2019m grateful specifically to Matt [Bettinelli-Olpin<\/strong><\/a>] and Tyler [Gillett<\/strong><\/a>] who gave me that shot. That hasn\u2019t been soured for me. They don\u2019t have that power.\u201d<\/p>\n When the interviewer Marlow Stern<\/strong> said that Scream 7<\/em> \u201csucked,\u201d Melissa<\/strong> responded: \u201cI know.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAnd I think they lied about the numbers. I don\u2019t think it made that much money,\u201d she went on to say.<\/p>\n \u201cBut at the stage door, I sign Scream <\/em>things every night. Matthew Lillard<\/strong><\/a> (Stu Macher) and Scott Foley<\/strong><\/a> (Roman Bridger) also return, with David Arquette<\/strong><\/a> (Dewey Riley) also appearing<\/p>\n \u201cWhen you\u2019re doing something that feels like it\u2019s the right thing to do, and then you\u2019re punished for it, it really f\u2013ks with your head,\u201d she added, reflecting on the situation.<\/p>\n \u201cFor me, I was like, \u2018Wait \u2014 I\u2019m trying to call out something that is severely, severely wrong and evil, and I get punished for it. I get everything taken from me. What is the lesson I\u2019m supposed to learn.\u2019 I was even questioning God: \u2018What are You trying to teach me? Because I don\u2019t understand why the ones that are trying to do the right thing are getting punished, and the people that are like\u00a0la-la-la-la-la<\/em>\u00a0continue to rise. I don\u2019t understand this game.
