On Tuesday, May 5, the Marty Supreme actress<\/a>, 53, invited business journalist Kara Swisher on her lifestyle brand goop\u2019s podcast to discuss the ever-changing tech<\/a> industry, including the growing presence of AI and where politics come into play.<\/span><\/p>\n During the chat, she made a \u201ctone deaf\u201d comment that has some fans turning against her, just months after coming under fire for another \u201cdangerous\u201d claim made on her podcast<\/a>. The controversial statement came during a discussion of America\u2019s tech moguls, like Mark Zuckerberg. Gwyneth began questioning, \u201cHow did we get here as a culture?\u201d<\/p>\n She continued, \u201cObviously, there’s so much revenue and profit driving this whole thing, that’s at the heart of it, but how do you think we got to this place in culture where nothing matters and now all that matters is kind of these super-rich white dudes who are breaking rules, setting rules, seemingly not caring so much about the downstream impact on everything.\u201d<\/p>\n After Kara responded, highlighting \u201can idolatry of wealth,\u201d Gwyneth said, \u201cI feel like there’s something so endemic to being an American about this idea that anybody can do it from whatever socioeconomic background, but we put this hierarchy.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cIt’s like we’re so hungry for a hierarchy to make sense of our lives or something like that. And we imbue these guys with this extraordinary,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
