NEW YORK \u2013 It may be MTV’s<\/a> last call for the series “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation,”<\/a> but the show’s cast members aren’t quite ready to pile in a cab and leave the party yet.<\/p>\n “We still want to film and document our lives because there is a lot of stuff going on,” Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi<\/a>, 38, tells USA TODAY ahead of the show’s final season (premieres May 7, 8 ET\/PT). She’s joined by five of her eight castmates, and they’re all in agreement. “Everyone else has their own stuff going on in their life. So hopefully we can start filming again and we’ll find a new home.”<\/p>\n If there was a camera crew with the cast at the moment, Polizzi would be documenting her battle with Stage 1 cervical cancer<\/a>.<\/p>\n “I am sharing what’s happening on my TikTok<\/a> and doing interviews and stuff about it just for awareness,” Polizzi adds. “At this stage, I can fix it and I can be fine and be in remission and be cool.”<\/p>\n As for the show’s future, the cast feels optimistic this won’t be the last you’ll see of them.<\/p>\n “We feel like it’s going to happen soon,” Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino<\/a>, 43, says of a new deal on another platform. He adds the cast is leaning into the idea of being free agents for the first time collectively in 17 years. “I kind of like it, to be honest with you. We’ll go to the highest bidder.”<\/p>\n “Jersey Shore” premiered<\/a> on MTV in 2009. It launched “Snooki,” “The Situation” and the rest of the cast: Vinny Guadagnino, Jenni “JWoww” Farley, Paul “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio, Samantha “Sammi Sweetheart” Giancola and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro into the pop culture lexicon. The “Family Vacation” crew also includes Angelina Pivarnick<\/a> and Deena Buckner<\/a> (Deena Cortese). Pivarnick was on Season 1 of “Jersey Shore” for three episodes before she was evicted from the Seaside Heights, New Jersey home that the show filmed in. Buckner joined “Jersey Shore” in Season 3 as Pivarnick’s replacement.<\/p>\n “Jersey Shore” cast at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards June 6, 2010 in Universal City, California.<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n Ortiz-Magro, Guadagnino and Farley are absent from the interview. No reason is given, however video emerged from a prior interview on SiriusXM that showed Ortiz-Magro<\/a>, 40, appearing to doze off mid-interview. The reality star has been open about his trials and tribulations with addiction and mental health. On Tuesday, he shared a series of posts about mental health on his Instagram story<\/a>, noting that his appearance was due to the side effects of medication.<\/p>\n “Wanting to be with my castmates for a press tour celebration at the same time as carrying the weight required me to work through the effects in a public setting,” Ortiz-Magro wrote. “I thought I could be strong enough to get through it, but what you saw was me trying to battle through one of my toughest moments.”<\/p>\n Longtime fans of “Jersey Shore” are well aware of the history between Ortiz-Magro and Giancola, who were on-and-off partners throughout the show’s first run on MTV. Giancola didn’t come back to the franchise until 2023. She explained to Entertainment Tonight<\/a> that she didn’t initially return when “Family Vacation” premiered in 2018 because “I was in a good spot in my life and felt like going back to the show may enter me into some toxic situations again.”<\/p>\n In 2025, Giancola got married and gave birth to a child after infertility struggles. She not only returned to the show but shared those moments publicly.<\/p>\n “I think it’s so awesome that I am even able to come back and be accepted by my roommates again,” Giancola, 39, says. “But I don’t regret leaving. And when I was ready, I came back and I just feel so lucky that I get to be a part of this.”<\/p>\n Giancola and Polizzi are also able to laugh at “The Note,” an infamous, “anonymous” letter that “Snooki” and “JWoww” typed to Giancola to warn her that her then-boyfriend Ortiz-Magro was fooling around behind her back at a nightclub in Season 2. The text of it, specifically the opening (“Sam, the first night at BED when you left, Ron made out with two girls and put his head in between a cocktail waitresses breasts), has become a part of internet lore and spawned many memes.<\/p>\n Giancola and Polizzi laugh about the letter and have seen all the memes.<\/p>\n “Our first season of ‘Jersey Shore’ will continually keep us relevant because of how big it was,” Sorrentino adds. “Every single high school, you know, senior year, it’s like a right of passage to watch ‘Jersey Shore.'”<\/p>\n “The kids that are having ‘Jersey Shore’ parties, they weren’t even born when we were airing,” Polizzi says. “I just feel like all the new generations, they see us on TikTok.”<\/p>\n And from a media standpoint, that may be the biggest change since we were introduced to the cast in 2009. The way in which viewers interact with the show’s content has drastically shifted. TikTok wasn’t around and the platform that was then known as Twitter was in its infancy. And if the show was just starting today with a bunch of 20-somethings, would they be yelling “Cab’s here!” or would they be arguing about who calls the Uber?<\/p>\n Sorrentino even wonders what the future of MTV holds post-“GTL.”<\/p>\n “Are they going to turn it back into a music channel?” he asks. “Is it gonna totally end? But being on MTV for almost 17 years, we’re very grateful to be a part of one of the most iconic platforms and ‘Jersey Shore’ being one of the franchises that kept the lights on. So we’re very excited to see what the next chapter brings for us.”<\/p>\n If nothing else, “The Situation” still has plenty of pride and confidence.
