Jon Schaffer<\/strong>, founding guitarist of Iced Earth<\/strong>, has confirmed that he intends to release new material in the future. There\u2019s no doubt about that. But it will happen in my time. Because, as much as I listen, and I know the fans, especially Iced Earth fans, want new music, I\u2019m not interested in new music, I want excellent music. And anything that isn\u2019t truly inspired doesn\u2019t interest me. Getting the band back together just to try and feel relevant or make money is the easy way out. It\u2019s a masterstroke. I\u2019m not interested in that. It has to be because I truly love it, not because the machine depends on it. And I was involved in that,\u201d Jon revealed.<\/p>\n He continued: \u201cI think we made great records. I\u2019m proud of my career. [\u2026] I\u2019m not going to chase easy money instead of sacrificing my integrity as an artist, and that\u2019s it. I prefer that they like it\u2014that\u2019s my preference\u2014but if you start worrying about what others think, you\u2019ve already lost your way. Art isn\u2019t that, man.
