Knott\u2019s Berry Farm owner, Six Flags Entertainment Corp., jumped 17% to $23.04 per\u00a0share on\u00a0Thursday following its first quarter report.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Charlotte-based theme park operator reported Q1 net revenues of $226 million, up 12% from a year ago.\u00a0It currently has\u00a0a market cap of\u00a0$2.3 billion\u00a0(NYSE: FUN).\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe delivered meaningful year-over-year\u00a0improvement\u00a0in the first quarter driven by higher attendance, increased guest spending, and disciplined execution,\u201d Chief Executive John Reilly said in a\u00a0May 7\u00a0statement.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Attendance\u00a0rose\u00a04% to 2.9 million visits across its portfolio of\u00a0amusement\u00a0parks\u00a0despite fewer operating days compared to a year ago.\u00a0Six Flags\u00a0said\u00a0the year-over-year\u00a0increase\u00a0\u201cbenefited from favorable operating conditions, particularly on the West Coast\u201d such as \u201cthe earlier timing of the Knott\u2019s Berry Farm Boysenberry Festival.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Six Flags also saw improvements in per capita spending,\u00a0which the operator said was an \u201cencouraging early response\u201d to the updated season pass program for 2026\u00a0as well as its investments in upgrading\u00a0retail and food\u00a0and beverage.\u00a0Its active pass base is made up of approximately 5 million \u201cunits\u201d as of May, up 6% from a year ago.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Walt Disney Co.\u00a0reported fiscal second quarter results on May\u00a06 with\u00a0revenue up 7% to\u00a0$25 billion,\u00a0stating\u00a0that \u201ccurrent demand at our domestic parks and resorts is healthy.\u201d\u00a0Shares\u00a0were up 7.5% to $108.06 at the end of\u00a0Wednesday\u2019s trading session\u00a0(NYSE: DIS).\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
