“Hearst Magazines and AOL may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links.”<\/em><\/p>\n It\u2019s not all official visits and state dinners, for the young constituents<\/a> of the British royal family<\/a>, public engagements are few and far between\u2014and usually way more fun.<\/p>\n That was certainly the case this week, when Princess Catherine and Prince William\u2019s three children<\/a>\u2014Prince George<\/a>, 12, Princess Charlotte<\/a>, 11, and Prince Louis<\/a>, 8\u2014fulfilled their royal duties in the most adorable way, by naming the newest addition to the Australia Zoo.<\/p>\n \u201cI am very proud to announce that my friends, the Wales family, helped us to name our beautiful new joey!\u201d Robert Irwin, the famous zookeeper and conservationist (and son to the late Crocodile Hunter<\/em> star Steve Irwin), shared in an Instagram clip this afternoon.<\/p>\n The children\u2019s name selection was revealed in the caption of Irwin and the Wales family\u2019s joint post<\/a>. It read: \u201cIntroducing Cwtch, the newest member of the Australia Zoo family, a gorgeous eastern grey kangaroo joey. Cwtch, which means \u2018cuddle\u2019 in Welsh, was named by Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.\u201d<\/p>\n In the video, Irwin explains why Cwtch is the \u201cperfect\u201d name for a joey kangaroo, saying: \u201c\u2019Cause at this age, they love a cuddle, and they spend most of their time inside that pouch with their mum.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cLook out for Cwtch on your next visit to @australiazoo<\/a>, and support their vital conservation efforts to protect Australia\u2019s wildlife and wild places,\u201d Irwin added.<\/p>\n This may have been a small step into the realm of royal responsibilities for George, Charlotte, and Louis, but it seems to fair to say the Wales kids knocked it out of the park.<\/p>\n You Might Also Like<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
