The Devil Wears Prada 2<\/a> costume designer Molly Rogers and Stanley Tucci<\/a> didn’t see eye to eye about a few of his accessories in the new film.<\/p>\nRogers explained that she worked with Fashionphile, a company that sells used designer items, to assemble accessories for the movie, and it really helped her out when she was trying to get everyone’s looks together.<\/p>\n
“I really want a green Goyard bag for Stanley when we go to Italy, and it would be here,” she said at a recent Fashionphile event, giving credit to the rental service for sourcing the pieces she needed.<\/p>\n

Though Rogers liked the idea of Tucci, 65, carrying a bag in the film, she said she had to really convince him that it was worth wearing.<\/p>\n
“I had such a battle with him over carrying a bag. And I battled with him, like really battled. I wouldn’t call it healthy conversation. I battled with him over a bag, and I battled with him over brooches,” she said. “He just felt like I was pushing it. And I kept saying, ‘You’re going to look really flat on the red carpet.'”<\/p>\n
Tucci’s character Nigel wears the jeweled accessory for an event when they travel to Italy, and Rogers knew he needed some sparkle to stand out from the crowd.<\/p>\n
“And then Town & Country comes out last week, and he’s on the cover with three brooches on. I called him and said, ‘Traitor,'” she added with a laugh.<\/p>\n
Rogers then explained why she wanted Tucci to have the Goyard bag, saying that many of her friends have stylishly rocked them.<\/p>\n
“Some of my best gay friends have, like, Russian doll sizes of the Goyards \u2014 a little change purse, a little pill purse \u2014 and it goes up in sizes, and I wanted Stanley to do the same: small, medium, large, and [I] couldn’t talk him in to it,” she said. “A lot of times you don’t get your way.”<\/p>\n
Rogers said she also had a “devastating” moment when she learned that one of her favorite outfits in the movie got cut.
