(NewsNation<\/a>) \u2014 Not all queens love Jennifer Lopez<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cRuPaul\u2019s Drag Race<\/a>\u201d fan favorite Mia Starr, who has danced with Britney Spears<\/a> and Rihanna, said her experience working with J.Lo at the 2020 Super Bowl<\/a> \u201cfelt like hell.\u201d<\/p>\n Starr appeared on Mistress Isabelle Brooks\u2019 YouTube show<\/a> to talk about the experience and later elaborated for Entertainment Weekly<\/a> about how Lopez body-shamed her and was petty to her during the \u201cuncomfortable\u201d gig in Miami.<\/p>\n What is the \u2018wet reckless\u2019 plea that Britney Spears pleaded guilty to? <\/a><\/p>\n Starr, who was booked by the halftime show\u2019s choreographer, quit her job on the casting team for reality competition series \u201cThe Voice<\/a>\u201d \u00a0to work with Lopez.<\/p>\n But Lopez was initially unimpressed with Starr, who claims on the second day of rehearsals, J.Lo \u201clooks at me, comes up next to me, and is like, \u2018Hey, can you take off your shirt? I did it, and the look of disgust she gave me \u2026 now, people are looking.\u201d<\/p>\n Mia told EW a \u201chuge speech\u201d followed, and Lopez told the dancers, \u201cGuys, I need you to elevate yourself. You\u2019re dancing for me!\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI get it, but I was like, b\u2014-, this is literally day two, and we have three months, and I know my body. I\u2019m going to snatch it back if we\u2019re going to be dancing 60 hours a week. We have three more months, give me a break!\u201d Mia said.<\/p>\n The drag superstar then claims Lopez asked \u201call the boys\u201d to take their shirts off for the next few hours of rehearsals, which, Mia says, \u201cwas so uncomfortable\u201d for her.<\/p>\n \u201cIt just felt like an icky feeling. But, as a dancer, obviously, you are getting paid to look good. But I was coming straight from office casting work. This job came out of left field, and I was grateful for it,\u201d she recalls, noting that she got herself into better shape as time went on. Still, she says that \u201cto a normal person, I wasn\u2019t huge,\u201d but that Lopez \u201cmade it very clear that she was not pleased with my image, the way she gave that look of disgust. I was like, oh, this is embarrassing.\u201d<\/p>\n The next day, a catering truck with ice cream arrived outside of the rehearsal space, and Starr made sure she \u201cwas one of the first people in line\u201d to get a snack.<\/p>\n \u201cI said, \u2018Thank you\u2019 [to Lopez],\u201d Mia adds, laughing once again. \u201cShe gave that speech again; she was like, \u2018Guys, I need you to elevate yourself.\u2019 Clearly, at this point, I was like, she hates me. I\u2019m so petty. If I know you don\u2019t like me, I\u2019m going to do everything in my power to make you really not like me. (Photo by Emma McIntyre\/FilmMagic)<\/p>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n Lopez would \u201calways come in rehearsals, maybe the last two hours after we\u2019d rehearsed eight hours of a 10-hour day, and she\u2019d just be like, \u2018I hate it,\u2019 and give this big spiel,\u201d which would result in more changes \u2026 and more rehearsals.<\/p>\n And while Lopez \u201cwas super sweet to the kids,\u201d she \u201cwould always pretty much remind [the adult dancers] that we look like s\u2014.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s the process of dancing and production. Things are always going to change. But I was reminded that we looked a mess,\u201d Mia said. \u201cI\u2019m busting my ass. This dream job wasn\u2019t what I expected in the sense that this is the biggest moment of a dancer\u2019s career, and it felt like hell up until the point of the performance,\u201d with which she says Lopez was ultimately pleased.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m Team Shakira<\/a>,\u201d Starr told Isabella Brooks.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Starr said Lopez pulled a fast one on her with the 2022 Netflix documentary, \u201cHalftime,\u201d which Starr and other dancers weren\u2019t aware of \u2026 and weren\u2019t paid for.<\/p>\n Starr then claims she was asked to sign a release without pay and said, \u201cI was like, no, you didn\u2019t put me through all of that to not pay me. I didn\u2019t sign the paper. There were a few of us who didn\u2019t sign. They somehow found a loophole to still put me in it.\u201d<\/p>\n At the end, Starr said she received \u201ca $20 check\u201d as compensation.<\/p>\n Rob Reiner\u2019s son will forever connect with late dad over love of LA Dodgers <\/a><\/p>\n \u201cIt was so insulting,\u201d Mia says. \u201cI told my agent, \u2018You know what, actually, you can just please send this back, they clearly need it more than I do.\u2019 I sent it back because it\u2019s super insulting. I just had to laugh at that point. I was like, this is unreal.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThey asked me back for a random one-off,\u201d in Los Angeles, Mia says. \u201cAnd I said no. I was like, nope, no, no, no, ever.
