Hugh Jackman<\/a> <\/strong>was\u00a0Blake Lively<\/strong><\/a>‘s superhero at the 2026 Met Gala<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Although Ryan Reynolds<\/strong> didn\u2019t attend the New York ball with his wife of nearly 14 years, Jackman was able to fill in for his Deadpool & Wolverine<\/em> costar and give Lively a hand to help her avoid a wardrobe malfunction on the red carpet.<\/p>\n

“My good friend Blake Lively, goes, \u2018Dude, I need some help with the dress,'” Jackman explained to Jenna Bush-Hager <\/strong>and Shaneille Jones<\/strong> during a May 6 appearance on Today<\/a>. <\/em>He said Lively pointed to the bodice of her dress and noted, “I think there\u2019s a hook in there.”<\/p>\n

Before helping the It Ends With Us <\/em>actress rearrange her “stunning” ball gown\u2014a Versace design with a dramatic 13-foot train<\/a>\u2014Jackman\u00a0shot a text\u00a0message\u00a0to Reynolds. “I\u2019m like, \u2018Ryan, is this cool? Checking. Are we good?\u2019\u201d\u00a0he\u00a0recalled, revealing\u00a0Reynolds replied, “Go for it, brother.”<\/p>\n
