\n Up” began as an experiment in Mike D\u2019s home studio during sessions with
\n his sons, Davis and Skyler Diamond, who perform as the indie-dance duo
\nVery Nice Person. The Diamond brothers brought their father on stage for
\n a surprise show on 11 April, where they played Beastie Boys cuts
\nincluding “Looking Down the Barrel of a Gun” and “So What\u2019cha Want”.<\/p>\n
\n single was produced by Carter Lang and Very Nice Person, and mixed by
\nDerek \u201cMixedByAli\u201d Ali at No Name Studios. Artwork comes from San
\nFrancisco-based artist Thad Higa.<\/p>\n
\n Plaza Nightclub show is one of several intimate pop-up dates Mike D has
\n scheduled in unconventional venues. Recent performances have included
\nMalibu\u2019s Brothers Marshall Surf Shop and The Ojai Valley Women\u2019s Club.
\nUpcoming dates include 10 May at Sid the Cat Auditorium in South
\nPasadena, California, and 22 and 23 May at Xanadu Roller Arts in
\nBrooklyn, New York.<\/p>\n
\n Yauch\u2019s death, the Beastie Boys have continued to preserve their legacy
\n through vinyl reissues, a greatest hits album, a Spike Jonze-directed
\ndocumentary, and an official square in New York named at the corner of
\nLudlow and Rivington \u2013 the site of the Paul\u2019s Boutique<\/em> cover shoot. No further new music from the remaining members has been announced.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
