Ariana Grande<\/a> is planting the seeds for her Petal <\/em>era to begin. The pop superstar announced on Friday (May 8) that her upcoming eighth studio album\u2019s lead single is titled \u201cHate That I Made You Love Me,\u201d and it\u2019s set to blossom in just a few weeks.<\/p>\n Sharing the track\u2019s black-and-white artwork \u2014 a closeup photo of Grande\u2019s face with her hair falling over her eyes, similar to the Petal <\/em>cover art \u2014 the singer wrote on Instagram, \u201chate that i made you love me \u2026 my first single off of petal.\u201d<\/p>\n Calling it \u201cone of my favorite songs i\u2019ll ever write,\u201d Grande revealed that she co-produced \u201cHate That I Made You Love Me\u201d with Max Martin and ILYA, whom she called \u201cmy favorite collaborators and dearest human beings in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n More from Billboard<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201ci simply cannot wait for it to be yours,\u201d the Grammy winner added.<\/p>\n The new song will drop on May 29, about two months before Petal <\/em>arrives at the end of July. The project will follow up 2024\u2019s Eternal Sunshine<\/em>, which topped the Billboard 200<\/a> and spawned two No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100<\/a>: \u201cYes, And?\u201d and \u201cWe Can\u2019t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love).\u201d<\/p>\n The day prior to announcing \u201cHate That I Made You Love Me,\u201d Grande gave fans more details about the new album by sharing a video <\/a>of herself discussing its themes with her team. \u201cIt\u2019s a little feral,\u201d she said in the clip. \u201cIt\u2019s definitely from a place I\u2019ve been maybe too shy or polite to tap into before.
