Diane Warren<\/a> is sharing a hilarious interaction that she had with Cher<\/a>.<\/p>\n She posted a photo<\/a> of them together on X, and in the caption, she recalled what the Grammy winner told her.<\/p>\n “You’re annoying but U write great songs,” Warren, 69, wrote in quotes.<\/p>\n Though it was a backhanded compliment, Warren said she was amused by Cher’s comment.<\/p>\n “Haha thnx @Cher,” she added with a series of emojis.<\/p>\n Warren and Cher, 79, have known each other for quite some time. In 1989, they collaborated on Cher’s smash hit “If I Could Turn Back Time,” which was originally written by Warren.<\/p>\n Warren also wrote other classics like Toni Braxton<\/a>‘s “Un-Break My Heart” and C\u00e9line Dion<\/a>‘s “Because You Loved Me.” But when it came time to work with Cher, she told PEOPLE in 2021<\/a> that she had to beg the “Strong Enough” singer to take on her song “If I Could Turn Back Time.”<\/p>\n “She hated it,” Warren said. “I went to the studio and literally got on my knees and said, ‘I’ll pay for it. If you don’t like it, don’t use it.’ She agreed.
