Bad Bunny\u2019s halftime show at this year\u2019s Super Bowl was largely embraced<\/a> as a milestone for Latin music and Puerto Rican culture on America\u2019s most prominent pop-cultural stage.<\/p>\n Not everyone thought so<\/a>, though.<\/p>\n The Federal Communications Commission has released a massive trove of viewer complaints against the musician, the show\u2019s broadcast partner NBC, and the NFL. <\/p>\n Many of them expressed outrage at the supposed bawdiness of Bad Bunny\u2019s Spanish-language lyrics and dancing on a broadcast watched by children.<\/p>\n \u201cThat was the most disgusting inappropriate show. I had to make all of my children go into the next room!\u201d wrote one traumatized Las Vegas viewer. \u201cThe none use [sic] of inappropriate language should stand no matter what language it\u2019s in. This is the most disturbing thing I\u2019ve witnessed on live TV in a long time.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cNFL halftime show showed 2 men in act of intercourse while behind a pickup truck door,\u201d wrote one aghast Ohioan. \u201cThe ratings for NFL [sic] made it safe for my children to watch but they witnessed this and became disturbed.\u201d<\/p>\n Another viewer from Charlotte, NC who, to their credit, seemed familiar with Bad Bunny\u2019s catalog, wrote that they \u201ctake issue with the vocal performances of \u2018Safaera,\u2019 which is a track widely known for explicit sexual references and graphic lyrical content, and \u2018Yo Perreo Sola,\u2019 which had choreography featuring overtly sexualized movements, including widespread twerking, grinding, pelvic thrusts and other sexually suggestive conduct.\u201d<\/p>\n Those viewers were likely not sated by the FCC\u2019s February review of the performance, which found that the songs\u2019 lyrics had been appropriately altered for the broadcast. <\/p>\n Rep. Randy Fine (R-FL) had called for the FCC to investigate the broadcast.\u201dWhat Americans witnessed during the Super Bowl halftime show with Bad Bunny was despicable and never should be allowed to be shown on television again,\u201d Fine told the celebrity.land<\/a>. <\/p>\n Many of the viewer complaints mirror President Trump\u2019s post-show social media criticism, calling the performance \u201cone of the worst EVER!\u201d <\/p>\n
