Shane Warne\u2019s ex-wife has opened up about the devastating moment she realised he had died as their son Jackson makes a devasting confession about his grief.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Jackson on his podcast Warnes Way, Simone Callahan \u2014 who also shares Brooke and Summer with Warne \u2014 recalled the phone call she received in March, 2022 after the cricketing legend was found dead in a Thailand villa from a massive heart attack.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt didn\u2019t feel real,\u2019\u2019 Callahan said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were all there, we were watching a movie, I think we were doing facemasks, we were just having a normal Friday night.<\/p>\n

\u201cThen that just unfolded the way it did, and having to go back to Melbourne and get Summer and getting a call on the way back saying \u2018are you nearly home?\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cI think when I got that message, I thought \u2018this isn\u2019t good if they\u2019re asking me if I\u2019m nearly home with Summer\u2019 because they wanted us all together before we had that next phone call.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur lives were changed forever in that moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Callahan \u2014 who was married to Warne for ten years \u2014 said she doesn\u2019t remember a lot of that period of time.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had so much going on because I was worried about you guys because you were being pulled left, right and centre to organise the funeral and the memorial,\u2019\u2019 she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd there was so much going on. And I always felt a sense of guilt that you were having to deal with that.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou guys were young, but it was out of my control and it was hard for me to see all that.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 56-year-old said she was proud of how their three kids handled the tragic situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was so proud of the way you guys handled yourselves and I knew you would, but it was very hard for me to watch and see you guys go through all that,\u201d Callahan said,<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was really heavy and you guys had really heavy hearts and you didn\u2019t have a moment to really grieve at all during that time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jackson admitted he doesn\u2019t know if he has truly accepted that his father is gone.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe got so use to dad being away working all the time and playing for Australia… that to me it just feels like dad\u2019s on another work trip or dad\u2019s out playing cricket or he\u2019ll be back soon,\u201d Jackson said.<\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe I\u2019ll be on a beach somewhere, or playing in the world series or whatever it is and the light bulb moment will happen that \u2018no, no, no dad isn\u2019t coming back,\u2019 maybe (I\u2019ll accept it) when I have a kid or when I get married.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jackson said immediately after his dad\u2019s death he put his emotions aside and tried to do things that would make his father proud.<\/p>\n

\u201cI felt a sense of duty that I know dad would want me to do this,\u2019\u2019 Jackson said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re not a big crier, dad\u2019s not a really big crier. I haven\u2019t had that big cry yet… some people say it comes years after or in two or three years or whatever it is.\u201d<\/p>\n
