But from her perspective, every carefully choreographed overseas appearance and every so-called royal-style tour has chipped away at that goodwill.\u201d<\/p>\n The insider explained Middleton\u2019s change of heart. \u201cShe now feels Meghan and Harry are deliberately blurring the lines between celebrity branding and royal duty while still cashing in on the status that comes with their titles. That has become incredibly difficult for Kate to accept because she takes the responsibilities of royal life very seriously.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIn short, Kate has killed off the idea of a reunion with the Sussexes this summer,\u201d the source claimed.<\/p>\n This comes after reports that King Charles was trying to reunite the brothers at his Sandringham estate in Norfolk, England, and hoped his grandchildren,\u00a0Prince Archie, who is 6, and Princess Lilibet<\/a>, who is 4, would be present. But those reports indicated there was resistance from William, despite his father\u2019s wishes for a reconciliation.<\/p>\n It also comes after royal author Christopher Andersen said that Middleton was upset about what she considered \u201chorribly demoralizing\u201d comments about King Charles\u2019 cancer battle.<\/p>\n What comments? During a BBC interview in 2025, Harry said he \u201cdidn\u2019t know how much longer (his) father had,\u201d and that\u2019s why he was looking for reconciliation.\u00a0Kate<\/a>\u00a0had reportedly been in favor of the brothers reconciling before that, but Harry\u2019s negative tone about his father\u2019s illness left her pretty \u201churt,\u201d especially considering she has also battled cancer.
