On Monday night (May 4) in New York City, Heidi Klum<\/a>, Kylie Jenner<\/a> and SZA<\/a> were among Met Gala attendees that referenced artwork with their attire. Complex recapped memorable looks for last night\u2019s Met Gala, themed \u201cFashion Is Art,\u201d including influencer Emma Chamberlain in a Mugler gown referencing paintbrush strokes by art icon Vincent van Gogh and socialite and entrepreneur Kylie Jenner<\/a> giving a Schiaparelli take on ancient Greek sculpture Venus de Milo<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Klum, who\u2019s known for turning Halloween into her personal fashion show, went full-on sculpture by referencing Raffaele Monti\u2019s 1846 piece \u201cVeiled Vestal.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI went walking around in the Met and Raffaele Monti, he\u2019s done most of the sculptures from the 1800s, so I looked and I was like, \u2018Wow, this is so beautiful. The drape, and it\u2019s all in marble, but how can you make that with fabric?\u2019\u201d the model told Vogue<\/em> on the carpet.<\/p>\n

Also turning heads at Met Gala was Cardi B<\/a> in a puffy Marc Jacobs<\/a> dress that was a play on 1935 Hans Bellmer piece \u201cThe Doll,\u201d and model Anok Yai in a tearful Balenciaga<\/a> look that brought sculpture \u201cMater Dolrosa\u201d to life.<\/p>\n
