Movements are diving headfirst back into the emotional wreckage.<\/h2>\n

The Southern California post-hardcore outfit have announced their fourth studio album, Happier Now<\/em>, landing September 4th via Fearless Records, alongside the announcement, the band have released a double hit of new material with \u2018Dissolve Me\u2019 and \u2018Back In My Ways\u2019, giving fans a sharp look at the album\u2019s split personality between explosive catharsis and slow burning melancholy.<\/p>\n

For a band that\u2019s spent the better part of the last decade soundtracking emotional collapse with shimmering guitars and gut-punch lyricism, the new tracks feel like Movements<\/a><\/em><\/strong> sharpening both edges of the blade.<\/p>\n

\u2018Dissolve Me\u2019 leans into the band\u2019s more urgent side, throwing angular riffs and towering hooks into the pit ready tunes they\u2019ve become known for, vocalist Patrick Miranda said the song became the blueprint for the rest of the record almost immediately.<\/p>\n

\u2018Dissolve Me, the first track we wrote for this record, set a precedent for our writing process,\u2019<\/em> Miranda explained. \u2018It felt like the perfect culmination of energy, emotion, and growth for us sonically.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n

Lyrically, the track digs into social anxiety and emotional exhaustion, with Miranda admitting the song acts as a confession about struggling through even the most basic interactions.<\/p>\n

\u2018Sometimes it feels like the only remedy would be to slam my head into a wall,\u2019<\/em> he said.<\/p>\n

\u2018Back In My Ways\u2019<\/h2>\n

On the other side of the release sits \u2018Back In My Ways\u2019, a slower and more introspective cut that gradually spirals emotionally by its closing moments, Miranda admitted the track took longer to connect with personally.<\/p>\n

\u2018Back in My Ways was a track that I kinda hated at first,\u2019<\/em> he revealed. <\/p>\n

\u2018Sometimes the early versions of the songs we write don\u2019t hit right away, but over time it\u2019s become one of my favorite tracks on the record.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n

Produced once again by Will Yip, whose fingerprints are all over modern post-hardcore through work with Turnstile, Title Fight, and Circa Survive, Happier Now<\/em> promises to merge the emotional weight of Movements\u2019 earlier material with the louder, more aggressive energy heard on 2023\u2019s RUCKUS!<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Australian fans already got a reminder of the band\u2019s live intensity earlier this year when Movements tore through arenas nationwide supporting Pierce The Veil, judging by these new tracks, they\u2019re not done pulling at emotional scars just yet.<\/p>\n
